Ahrefs snapshot (sitewide)
Export www.windowscanada.com-refdomains-subdomains_2026-08-26_17-32-45.xlsx — referring domains including subdomains. Counts are Measured from that file. This export has no target URL, so it does not prove which links hit /edmonton.html.
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Referring domains in export | 2,129 |
| Live (no Lost date) | 1,345 |
| Lost referring domains | 784 |
| Ahrefs “Is spam” among live | 216 (16.1%) |
| Live .ca referring domains | 121 |
| Live hosts with “edmonton” in the name | 4 |
58% of live referring domains were first seen in 2025–2026. High-DR keep: canada.ca, ubc.ca, nationalpost.com. Do not disavow hosting platforms (web.app, firebaseapp.com, yolasite.com).
Do not upload the old 227-domain file
The 25 Aug list was a paid guest-post purchase record for Edmonton targets, not a live crawl. Overlay on this Ahrefs file:
- 70 still live as referring domains
- 29 in Ahrefs but lost
- 128 not in the export at all
Disavow buckets (human review before Search Console)
| Bucket | Count | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Conservative | 89 | Guest∩live (spam or DR under 40) plus live directory-named spam flags |
| Hold | 46 | Guest∩live with higher DR or high volume (e.g. smallbusinesscoach.org, 399 links) |
| Historical only | 128 | Skip unless a URL-level export shows live links |
Review Sheet (anyone with the link can edit): Ahrefs referring-domain review. Conservative domain list: 89-domain txt. Also linked from e04.
Volume outliers (investigate)
qualitywindows.ca— 17,407 live links, DR 3; not in the Edmonton guest-post 227. Ownership not in pack.fashionbombdaily.com— 2,038 links, DR 61; unrelated vertical.retail-insider.com— 1,296 links, DR 74; on the keep list — protect.
Order new
8–12 quality Edmonton links over 90 days (not PBN): Edmonton Journal / Examiner-class editorial, local association/sponsorship, CA reno publications. Anchors: window replacement Edmonton, vinyl windows Edmonton, brand+Edmonton mix.

Keep list vs this export: 16 live, 2 lost (thedailyguardian.net 2025-05-03, thinkingoutsidethesandbox.ca 2025-01-04), 16 not listed (including apal.ca, architecturelab.net, blogs.cornell.edu). Reclaim lost first.
Evidence gap
Need an Ahrefs backlinks (URL-level) export to see which referring URLs hit edmonton.html. SharePoint “All URLs for Projects – Onecore.xlsx” was not accessible on 25 Aug.
